MIDDLE OF THE WEEK....

Last night was a very pleasant night with dinner and a meeting with my friends at the Elks.  It was initiation with eight new members joining.  Afterwards we went into the lounge for a drink and food that they always put out for the members after the meeting. I'm so grateful for these friends that have been there for me and pick me up to take me.  I don't like driving at night anymore, although I can do it.  Just makes it easier not to have to fight the traffic.

Today is the sixth day I haven't heard anything from Dez.  I'm letting him alone and we will see if he calls either this afternoon or tomorrow.  He is like a whirlwind and has so much on his plate that I really don't think he has room for desert, meaning me of course.  We'll see if this weekend happens.

I'm going to make this short as it is housecleaning day and I just need to get things in order.  With my two Himalayan cats, white ones at that, the carpet needs vacuumed every day.

I'll keep everyone apprised of my ongoing saga with Mr. Road Runner.

SUCCESS I GUESS...

Seems things are working just fine on this blog, although I still can't see the cougars surrounding the script everyone says are there.  Maybe mine will show up sooner or later.  Computers do have a mind of there own.

I did a lot of errands today.  It is always a good feeling to get things done and  I don't know how I kept up with everything when I worked.

Tonight Brian is picking me up to take me to a meeting at the Elks.  He is on a committee with me for the Marine Corp Ball this Fall and lives close by.  Sometimes he takes me and sometimes his sister does.  They are really wonderful people and I can always count on them should I need a ride or anything else for that matter.

I really am blessed with a lot of wonderful friends in my life that have been there for me.  I've known most of them for thirty or forty years and the new ones are at least ten years.  Longevity reigns in the friend department.

I'm off to get ready for my evening, takes me a lot longer to fluff up then it use to....

BACK ON LINE.....

Finally, got the glitches taken out of my computer.  Thank heaven for Bruno at Staples my best tech man ever.  He really is a genius when it comes to fixing all the weird things that happen.  The only thing he couldn't recover was my cougar faces surrounding the Blog....oh well!

So since I've posted my last bit of information let me see if I can recall what I've been up to.  I really think the  "Adventures in Online Senior Dating" has become  irrelevant.  I actually haven't been on line for a while.  I have my hands full with Veteran man, Dez, and a few other people, not to mention my everyday life that seems to be flying by.

Dez was sick for a long time and still is coughing but not as much.  I did see him once after he cancelled our date and he really tried to keep his head up.  I think he knew I was not very happy with all the cancellations that happened although I did understand. He drove his usual two and a half hours to see me.  I guess he really does want to see me or he wouldn't be making the trek.

He promised that he would come down for a date night on a Thursday the following week, which was last Thursday.  Needless to say, he tried to put to much on his plate.  He had a court date for jury duty early the next morning, and had to leave for the North to final the job that has been on going forever.  He called me and asked what I was doing the 2, 3 and 4 of March, the following weekend.

Dez wanted to take me to Palm Desert.  Now, this trip was one we planned a year ago and didn't make, do you see a theme here?  I told him okay but I'd believe it when I saw the whites of his eyes.  He swore that he was definitely going to do this.  We'll see.  I don't plan on anything with him.  If it happens it happens.  He has business out there so if that holds I'm sure we will go.  God forbid he should just take me to be with me.  He has to squeeze everything he can into his schedule including his love life.  He already knows where he wants to take me to dance.  Progress????

Me of all people know that business is business and with commercial construction things happen that are totally unforeseen.  He is keeping his head above water and in this economy that is a hard thing to do.  He will be leaving for Florida and Alabama, Arizona and god knows where else in the near future. I'm trying to be understanding and patient, which is not my strong suit.

I'm glad that I don't want a permanent 24/7 man.....Dez would make me crazy, but he is just so damn much fun and we have a good time together when we do go out, that I'm not willing to give him up or send him on his way. I put up with more from him then I have from any other man I've ever known and believe me that has been many.  Dez makes me laugh and that is something I've never had with a man.

As for Veteran man, he is so attentive and communicative I get the feeling that he is totally enamored. He is very flattering.  He calls me spectacular, incredible, beautiful, smart, sexy etc.   It is nice to have someone that pays a lot of attention to you even if most of the things he says are just blowing smoke my way.   He's taken me out for drinks, lunch and dinner. This week he is in the Grand Cayman's with his daughter. When he arrived in Florida he texted me and said he was on his way to the Caymans and had arrived safely in Fort Lauderdale.  Then today I received a picture on my cell of the most beautiful white sugar sand beach and palm trees, although he said he wouldn't be texting due to the expense from that distance. I don't know if a picture counts.  He really needed to get away and I hope he has a great time.

So, I will let everyone know if I actually get to Palm Desert with my favorite man......

CHANGE OF HEART.....

I know I said I wasn't going to go out with Veteran man but he wanted to talk about his relationship with the person he has been going out with for the last several years.  Dez was suppose to come down and at the last minute canceled.

Dez texted me and said he would be leaving Beverly Hills at 1:30 and Irvine at 6:00.  He sounded a little snarky in his text.  I texted back that was really very specific hours. Then I got another text from his asking if we could make our date for next week.  He also said he was tired of texting and would I call him.

I called him and he  still sounded like he was going to die right there and then.  He was working but and had to wait for someone to show up with keys.  He couldn't get through a sentence without coughing and told me that at a meeting he coughed for fifteen minutes and had to leave.  Since at this point he can barely breath I accepted the fact that he shouldn't be coming to Irvine and he promised he was going home to rest. He is seeing a new doctor who gave him more meds, so I am hoping it helps him.

This morning I checked and he said he went to bed at seven and just had gotten up at 8:00 am, which is unheard of for Mr. five in the morning. So we will see what happens this coming week.  This has been going on close to four weeks and really has lasted to long.

Veteran man knew that Dez was suppose to come down and he asked if he could be plan "B."  When Dez canceled I thought I would hear what cockamamie story he had to impart.  Not to mention I have been in the house most of the week and a dinner at the yacht club sounded pretty good.

Veteran man came to the door with flowers and his explanation.  Seems this person he is seeing, according to him, is on her way out.  He has committed to the following year of being an escort and he thinks he needs to keep his word.  At this point I don't care if he keeps his word or not.  Dez is my preferred choice and if Veteran man wants to be the back up quarterback and plan B, then he can be.  He lives close, Dez does not, and he wants to take me out to nice places.  Guess I can be a dinner whore.

It was a fairly early evening and as Veteran man had to work the next morning he didn't stay when he brought me home. YEA!  He did impart a story about his friend coming to his house for dinner on Saturday night.  .He said she arrived drunk and ended up falling in the bathtub when she went to the ladies room.  He was not amused and he said the drunk part was not the first time.  Guess everyone has their issues. He is planning on talking to her this weekend.

So, I'm home, doing my thing and actually looking forward to vegging out for the weekend.  I'm rooting for New York in the Super Bowl and hope they win.  Other then that it is onwards and upwards.
