Last night I paid off a bet I made with Vet man. I told him if I lost this bet I'd cook dinner for him. He picked the date and Monday it was. I made a pot roast, roasted onion, buttered carrots with parsley mashed potatoes and chocolate cake for desert. The wine was a Cask Cabernet.
Vet man never comes on time. He is one that comes early and can throw a monkey wrench into things. He arrived, this time, a half hour early baring flowers. It is a funny thing. I really feel weird about having him in the house. It seems that Bruno has taken over everything and to have someone over, even though innocent, seems disloyal. I'm sure Bruno doesn't think that when he is dancing with the multitude of women he asks to dance when he is traveling around the country and God knows what else. I will give him the fact that he tells me about it.
I really wasn't feeling up to par last night and it was a pretty short evening. I think he might have been here less then two hours. Vet man likes to pass things by me that is happening in his life. He said he valued my opinion and does take things to heart. Like all people that have children and are divorced they are never done with them. He's been divorced for twelve years and the kids are in their thirties and live back East, but needless to say there are always problems. I guess just having kids is a never ending scenario, divorced or married.
Today it is pouring rain and a cold storm from Alaska is coming down the Coast. I promised some people that I would go to the Elks to vote on a matter tonight, and although I'm not looking forward to getting out tonight, I have to go.
The time is getting close to decorate for the Homecoming for the four hundred people that are attending. I have boxes of favors in the office and need to do other things to get ready for same.
Sunday a friend of mine asked if I would join him to listen to music. I did and there was this amazing girl that played an electric violin. Who knew they had electric violins. They were four band players in this small place and it was deafening but very, very good. They played oldies and current songs. The crowd was older and the place was packed. It was better then sitting home doing nothing.
Life right now has been pretty boring. Bruno is AWOL, and should surface the end of this week. So with that I will close and hope that things get better.
